Dr. Dana Crigger received a B.B.A. from Texas A&M Commerce in 1991 after which she began working in a variety of veterinary clinics. One of the most influential veterinarians in her career was Dr. Trish Rife who continues to practice in Greenville, TX. "Dr. Rife shared my love of cats, and would tell stories of her experiences working at an 'all cat hospital' in New York." It was always entertaining visiting Dr.Rife as she seemed to have a cat in every corner of her house and on every tree branch outside of it. Years later, during vet school, Dr. Crigger visited one of those "cat only clinics" during a trip to Houston. "Immediately when I walked in the door, I was hooked. This veterinary clinic was different. It was quiet, clean and even had carpet! The level of medicine and care available to these cats was outstanding. I knew at that moment that a cat hospital was where I eventually wanted to be."
In May of 2000 Dr. Crigger graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine from Texas A&M University. After graduation Dr. Crigger went to work for Dr. Mike Overton in Allen, TX who become her second true mentor. "Dr. Overton has been such a huge influence on my personal growth as a veterinarian. He is a fantastic human being on so many levels. Working with him was such a blessing."
In the summer of 2002, together with the support of her family and friends, Dr. Crigger set out to pursue her dream of providing a special veterinary clinic in Collin County devoted exclusively to cats and their people. Overtime, the Cat Hospital of Collin County has become a clinic that is personal, practical, and passionate. Dr. Crigger and her staff work together to deliver good quality veterinary services just for cats. Her personal goal is to help cats maintain happy healthy lives which also helps people.
